OBSERVATIONS AND Meta Development
The July metagame has settled down and things have properly developed after the introduction of 12 DLC Pokémon, and the subsequent banning of Gallade and Alomomola. Pawmot has come on top as the clear dominant threat of the tier with powerful 1HKO potential, incredible speed, and versatility. Slowking has established itself a strong, versatile, and pivotal member in many teams compositions. With Pawmot ruling the offensive side of things, Slowking is often paired with partners that resist or are immune to Pawmot’s STABs, these being Pokémon like Claydol, Donphan, Chesnaught, Rotom-Heat, and more!
Spotlight of the week

Item: IRON BALL
Iron Ball is an item that halves the speed of the holder and grounds them. This item has potential in a month where top walls like Slowking, Claydol, and Porygon2 all use Teleport and other pivoting options. Many of these walls can also use Trick and pass this item to drastically reduce the speed of the opponent’s threat.
